Roger Federer’s Outfit For Wimbledon 2016

Hey guys, here is Roger Federer's outfit for Wimbledon 2016. As you may have guessed it's a pretty much an all white affair as per the AELTC rules. Check it out below:

Standard fair really for Wimbledon and I think it's pretty good. Not on the buy list as white shorts + club courts = 1 pocket with dirt around them that doesn't wash out easily. Not ideal 🙂

Let me know what you think of it in the comments.

About Jonathan

Huge fan of Roger Federer - I'll pretty much try and watch all his matches from Grand Slam level right down to ATP 250. When I'm not watching or tweeting about tennis I play regularly myself and use this blog to share my thoughts on Fed and tennis in general.

Hey Guys, Here is my 2017 report from Indian Wells. I say it every year …

    • Just as expected for Wimby, i like it being a polo but not my favorite (2009 and 2012 are highlights for me). But as long as Roger wins I don’t care what he wears hehe

      #GoRoger

  1. I missed it again :D.
I like the outfit, It’s classy and I hope he can have a good run this time :).

  2. Meh, never a fan of Wimby outfits (bar the 2009 one which I couldn’t find anywhere….), too bland for me. Let’s see how well he performs in it 🙂

  3. If,he wins in it, I’ll love the outfit more than anything

    • Me too. Although I doubt there’s much chance of that!

It’s got that stupid crinkly stripe on the back again – what’s the point of that in a uniformly coloured outfit?!

      • Well, the obvious answer is Nike. When they bring out a set of outfits, they want to promote the idea of a range of similar styles, so it would be silly to buck the trend only for Wimbledon. It helps to make this year’s poor look different (if only slightly) to other years’.

It’s pretty common. I just think they believe they can get away with it without breaching rules. In 2014 we had that series of short collar polos (green, black, red). 2015 saw the stripe across the front (yellow, orange, green, purple). I just think Nike are continuing this style for the whole year, like they did in ’09 (the weird contrasting fabric pattern that glinted)

  4. He went with white again. How did I know it was coming.

  5. AELTC rules seriously! what is it 99% white uniform , leaving 1% for nike logo??
I am liking his collaboration with for clothing “other than on court dressing” paves way for my future collections!! ;”) think they’re pretty cool.

Its still a classic outfit + a bearderer (looking for redemption) look would be perfect. Fed looking good in that practice session with Chillyc. Hoping for a strong 1st week. Allez Rog!

  6. Loved that he back to collared polo tee instead of round neck. Wouldnt it be nice to some touch of color but rules are rules. Let’s do this Roger!!!

  7. Pure and simple. Since it’s polo, I don’t mind that at all. Just pray his hair grows quickly in time, right Sue?

    • Agreed, Roger should not be allowed to cut his hair too short. Each time he does that he has back injury.

      • I was actually thinking about the same since weeks, darn. As soon as he appeared on his first stuttgart press, i was like no this is to short and I think its fairly long considering we re still weeks away from the latter stages 😉

      • He must be the modern version of Samson, then!…

  8. OH, it’s white. .. Love the colour.

  9. Short hair equals disaster. Go back to AO 2009 and check out the haircut. Never fails. Classy look with the proper waistband not elastic on the shorts. Stripe down the back of the polo is daft but I’m sure Nike will continue that all year. Cap is a little risky.

Saw a clip of Roger involved with helping to choose the fabric for USO 2018. Don’t know if that was real or not.

Wondering how the vote will be today?

    • Sid TheCookieThief

It wasn’t the short hair, it was a heavily doped up Nadal that cost Federer AO2009. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a world class moron.

    • Roger won’t be wearing the cap on court though, will he? Otherwise, where would the bandana go?

  10. Maybe Roger will spring a surprise like he did 3 years with his orange shoes, elegantly shake his fist at this ‘ALL white’ nonsense gone way too far and turn up in bright pink ! Outfit been almost identical for last 3 years, jacket literally…

  11. You know that you miss Roger lifting the trophy when you don’t care that much in the outfit sas long as he win the title…hahaha

Don’t know but I really wanted him one more, just one more grandslam… And I can sleep in peace.. 🙂 #selfishme
But still very classy. And still I really love his shoes… 🙂

  12. Hope that collar gives him the wings to fly ! C’mon Roger make this outfit as memorable as the 2012 win with the classic sweater.
When you have Bjorn Borg openly wishing you get 8 and that you will be playing next year you have to be the greatest, whatever happens.
So much good will for Roger Federer and all the excited anticipation just adds such an amazing dimension to Wimbledon or any match he contests these days.
Thanks Jonathan too as the PeRFect Tennis site has also heightened and enhanced our tennis experience and the Roger Federer effect!

  13. Out of topic here, so what is going to happen to David Cameron post Brexit?

  14. Roger looks best and plays best tennis when he’s in white, with long hair, and cleanly shaven, 😀

  15. I miss the white gold style!
