Roger Federer’s Outfit for the Cincinnati Masters and Rogers Cup 2015

Here’s Roger Federer’s outfit for the Cincinnati Masters 2015 and at the Rogers Cup in Montreal should he play there this year.

As you can see it’s the exact same style as the Wimbledon Henley just with significantly more colour in the form of a vivid pink and fuchsia combo. The shorts are blue with fuchsia detailing.

I don’t have pictures yet of the jacket in high res (it’s very similar to one worn earlier in the year except the pink / fuchsia replaces the violet). And I

And I also can’t find any pictures of the Nike Vapor’s he will be wearing in Cincy; his USO 2015 ones are online and are a volt green / black colour. I’ll add them in once they leak online.

What do you think of the henley now it’s had an injection of colour?

    1. I’m not sure about colours on a henley: I thought the point of them was pretty much to have them white, so at first glance this is slightly weird, but we’ll see. Somehow the colour scheme reminds me of something Adidas from a few years ago.

    2. I don’t mind the colours but not the best. Maybe will look better on. Looks a bit Grandad top like though henley. Maybe the next iteration will have long sleeves that can be rolled up and button fastened.

      1. Hi there Jonathan. .. I wanted to say two great words you have pit first your WimbleDONE next!!! Lol. And the best word and sentence is about Federers T shirt Henley with the odd colours and LOOKS LIKE GRANDAD CLOTHING. LOL. Ha ha you have reminded me of my school days when we used to take the mickey with me friends and called each other Grandad shoes to all clothing! ! Man I am still laughing.
Anyway regarding federer T’shirt colour combinations. I think on the pictures it looks worse but when federer wheres it majority of the time he seams to pull it off. But lets see I think itwwill be alrightonce ffederer wheres it. Keep up the good work . Nice one Jonathan. Respect

  1. Prefer and love the Henley in white… Major success looks wise and apparently got huge sales. Not so sure on the coloured version but just desperate for Fed to win some cups in the US swing! Enough trays already!! Still not over the final, especially when I now realise just how close he was in 2014…. Novak too strong this yr in sets 3/4… Supreme tourney but peaked one match too soon and pushed a little too much resulting in more UFE’s….sad but true!

      1. Truthfully? Agony. Started pretty brightly. Had he held serve when he broke at 3-2 in 1st set, match might hv gone v differently. Once Novak broke, he had confidence to break again. Got hopeful after 2nd set TB but Novak was already proving impregnable from baseline, hits harder, deeper, earlier than Murray. Kept forcing errors off the Fed FH with his pace and width. 3/4th sets were never in doubt. Great tourney for Rog, greater final for Novak. Crowd was bonkers for Fed, incredibly moving, but the ceremony lost all emotion by being delayed due to rain, and roof closure and Fed pretty flat by then, v disappointed. Always great to see him live but he pushed it a little and 35 UFE’s told the story…still a privilege to see him contest another final tho.

      2. Thanks for this Susie. Did he seem mentally flat? It’s just so hard to comprehend – even now – the apparent huge shift in his focus and belief from the semifinal to the final. Maybe it is just down to pushing too hard as you say.

Glad to hear you say that the probe support for Roger really was as extraordinary as it appeared on TV.

      3. Anyone else think Susie should be banned from Wimbledon finals with Fed in? Back to back defeats all have one thing in common 😆

      4. Oh right, CLEARLY the deciding factor there Jonathan, cough cough. Nah, I love having her first-person observations, & actually I love knowing there’s a PF Tennis representative onsite too 😉

    1. I was thinking of you Susie. You’ve summed it up well. If he could have hung on to that early break in set one, it might have given him the confidence to press on; thought the tiebreak drained him emotionally and physically as well. Like you said, Novak better from the baseline and I thought Feds was starting to tire a bit by set 4. But you got to see the great man in his 10th Wimbledon final! Just wish it could have been the trophy. Even watching on TV you could feel the crowd willing him on, desperate for him to win. Ditto on SF and that TB is burned into my memory. 🙂

      1. I guess not even Roger can summon up “god” mode at will. It must surely depend on how relaxed he is, and whether he can slip into “instinctive” mode rather than overthink things. I doubt that’s going to happen at a slam against Novak.

      2. You’re right Alison – I guess we all got hopeful after SF, but as Susie says, Djokovic can hit harder/deeper and keep it up for longer (just relentless) + seems to have a better ‘read’ on Feds’ serve than Murray. But it’s done now, so we must put it behind us and hope that he is able to give himself another chance, possibly at the US, you never know. 🙂

      1. Yes, so much to look forward to! Expecting great US swing! I see he is doing DC duty again… Wouldn’t be to do with Olympic eligibility I suppose..? 😉

    1. Oops, that was supposed to be a reply to Susie’s “Still that SF and that TB on my vid forever…:)” Don’t know quite what happened there.

Anyway, getting back to the outfit, I meant to say that if you’re going to have all that colour why not just have a basic round-necked T-shirt rather than a henley? I can’t really see the point.

  2. I liked the Henley shirt at Wimbledon, but as others have said, whether it will work as well with the colour combo remains to be seen. He’s really embracing those rich colours though. I’m sure he’ll look great as always. 🙂

  3. I don’t like the Henley. Looks like an unfinished garment, something a tramp picked up from a trash can for a quick fix.
The girls in this forum will strongly disagree (by all means, do!) but in Wimbledon, even Roger, for all the care he takes with his looks, looked like a fellow that just got up from bed and did not have time to pull something normal over his head, and instead showed up on court wearing his undershirt.
[OK, start throwing tomatoes here. Done? Fine, moving on]
Call me a conservative guy or whatever, but a polo shirt will always stand one notch above other designs. White, preferably; that’s what I wear.

But, yeah, sport brands always must come out with some funky new stuff, doesn’t really matter how classic or how extravagant, as long as it is different from last month’s model.
After all, they make a living out of it and fashion designers must get paid…

  4. Unsure about this colour and Henley design – maybe only Roger can pull it off. Please bring back pastel colour polo shirt soon.

    1. I’ve seen something that purports to be the USO shirt just the other day Dippy, & am hoping it’s true – polo, off-white, orangey-red collar & other trim. Really QUITE a step up.

    2. Hm… now I’m seeing something quite different, teal color w/ off-white sleeves – but can’t tell if the teal extends around to the back. Quite nice if it does, but I DETEST shirts with a pattern/color on the front only. It’s like, wait – hey – where did the shirt go? Feels two-faced (two-backed?)

    1. Now that’s something totally unexpected!
Neutral as they pretend to be, the swiss have produced the best tennis player (Federer), the best watches (Omega), the best rock band (Young Gods), the best chocolate (Lindt), the wackiest car designer (Franco Sbarro), the biggest global humanitary movement (Red Cross), and so on.
      Quite remarkable, I would say…

      1. My thoughts too Susie. If sponsors are looking for “honest” “role models” as Tony is quoted as saying, the number two guy on the list is a mystery & makes one wonder about the methodology of the analysis.

      2. What sells? Tiger obviously. On account of honesty?? Ha! Nice to see though that Roger’s charisma is appreciated

      3. Tiger is only ‘dishonest’ because it became public knowledge. Everyone has skeletons in their closet 😆

The list looks pretty inaccurate though.

  5. Hey guys, I’m on holiday at the beach. Had to check the site…see what I was missing! As usual, hate the fit of the shorts. Roger into colour lately.

I see he and Stan are playing DC at home in Sept.

      1. Oh WONDERFUL, Jonathan, that’s what we badly need in these dry days! Thank You!

  6. Love that. Never tire of watching those shots.

    Sid, couldn’t agree more.

I see Tipsarovic is playing in Vancouver this year. Draw not out yet though.

  7. Hey guys, what’s up? You know… “Karma” can be really funny sometimes….

Boris makes a dig at Roger moments before his book release….. ends up selling big time.

Froome makes a dig at Roger…. ends up winning the Tour the France.

Novak robbed Roger of you know what… ends up winning it the next year again (oke atleast he did play fair THIS time).

And meanwhile….. Roger is the one holding the plate….. ai ai ai….sigh.

Really “Karma”?? Nah, I am kidding… sorry…. had to say this…. it has been bugging me since a while 🙂

    1. Becker is an idiot.

      Froome is a doper.

And Djokovic (2011 onwards) is also a doper. Also the press didn’t really care that he won it was more “Heartbreak for Wimbledon’s favourite son”

  8. Hi there, glad you guys are still active on the site. Me, struggled to cope the heat, had been escaped for a week and came back home to find it’s still at 37 degrees Celsius!

Hope you are having a good break from blogging, Jonathan or working on a video post?
Bit late but thanks for the outfit news. Hum…not sure about the colour, is that violet or plum? Have to see on him anyway. Wish it was the polo.

      1. I did not mean … I apologize. In fact, on this page was missing the picture of the shoes, having found it, I wanted to share with you. Forget it, never write anything.

  9. Any news on Roger’s outfirt for the US Open 2015? Hope it doesn’t involve one of those hideous camo shirts I’ve seen around (I believe I saw Nadal and Dimitrov on a photosoot wearing them)…
