Roger Federer’s Outfit for Hamburg, Gstaad, The Rogers Cup & The Cincinnati Masters

I'm a bit late in posting this mainly as I had no idea what he would be wearing in Hamburg but here's Federer's outfit for his upcoming tournaments in Hamburg, Gstaad, The Rogers Cup (Montreal) and then Cincinnati.

It's not often Roger plays 4 tournaments in such a short time frame when one of them is not a Grand Slam so he'll be getting plenty wear out of this one.

I'm glad that Nike have gone back to the trusted Polo after a brief spell of crew necks for the Masters 1000 tournaments on clay but I'm not huge fan of this either. I quite like the the actual design and detailing but I'm not very keen on the colour scheme or the fabric / synthetic overlay they have used.

It looks like the polo has a thin layer coating it giving it a shiny like effect which I think makes it look quite cheap. Although after seeing Roger wear it today vs. Brands it has grown on me slightly. I do like the collar as it looks like it will hold it's shape and the buttons look pretty cool.

The shorts and trainers are very simple in design with just 2 colours used through on them so I think think they're a winner.

What do you guys think? Glad that Nike have reverted back to the polo?

Huge fan of Roger Federer. I watch all his matches from Grand Slam level right down to ATP 250. When I'm not watching or writing about tennis I play regularly myself and have a keen interest in tactics, equipment and technicalties of the sport.

    1. Oh come on, Ana, after a long time I thought I was going to be first, and there you are, spoiling the party 😐 It’s about time I got a bigger racquet. That should teach all of you 🙂

  1. I quite like the monotone outfit on the picture. It’s simple and subtle. Unfortunately I couldn’t see the match today as I couldn’t get any live stream 🙁 How did this summer kit look on him?

  2. Wow Jonathan, two articles??? Doing good… I liked the shirt he wore today, kind of baby blue. Not a fan of the trousers, but oke.

Ps: Do you know what the bad thing also was when he lost Wimby? I would have loved to see pictures of him practising in a shirt which had the flag of England, only in green instead of dark blue.

  3. Thanks for the article Jonathan.

I’ll admit that I’m not a big fan of the outfit. The shoes are a rather boring colour way, while the stripes running from the armpit, wrapping around to the front of the waist looks “mickey mouse”. Overall, not Nike’s best work in general this year…

    1. Yeah, I think it looks ok on, just not a massive fan of the sort of coating on the polo. Trainers I think are ok, I prefer it when they keep it simple.

      1. I’d have to agree with you in that I prefer simplicity with the shoes. But simplicity for me, is in not in the colour ways, but in the design. I’m not a fan of the outer portion of the upper, zig-zag navy pattern, against the white back drop of the deeper upper.

I was a huge fan of the midnight navy/poison green/white vapor 9’s that Roger wore during the Madrid and Rome masters. Those shoes were bad ass!

  4. Jon, even RF collection now back in Polo,
but so far in 2013, i dont see any set of outfit this year is comparable to ANY in 2012
whats ur fav so far this year??
to me, all white in SW19 (with orange sole)

  5. Jonathan you can see Rogers latest apparel on if you didn’t know

Anyway thanks for keeping us fans up to date with Roger as we all love him so much 🙂
