Abierto Zapopan, Guadalajara Prize Money 2022

This prize money is for the smaller WTA 250 event held in Guadalajara earlier in 2022. The WTA 1000 Guadalajara prize money is located here.

Part of the WTA 250 circuit, the Abierto Zapopan takes place at the Panamerican Tennis Center in Guadalajara, Mexico, from 21 to February 27th 2022.

The event debuted in 2019 and makes a return for 2022 with a total prize money pool of $262,727 which is an 11.69% rise compared to the offering twelve months ago.

The champion in Zapopan will take home $31,000, which is up 6.2% compared to 12 months ago. The runner-up prize sees a boost of 10%, and they will take home a cheque for $18,037.

However, the increases quickly end, and every other main draw + qualifying round offers identical prize money to last year. With β€˜transitory’ inflation running into double percentage figures, players are significantly worse off in real terms.
