Mercedes Cup, Stuttgart Prize Money 2021

The Mercedes Cup, part of the ATP 250 circuit takes place at the Tennis Club Weissenhof and traditionally runs during the same week as the Libema Open over in Holland which is unfortunately cancelled this year.

The tournament made the switch from clay to grass in 2015 and saw Roger Federer win the tournament in 2018 at his third bite of the cherry.

Mercedes-Benz assumed the role of title sponsor in 1979 and the champion takes home a new car along with a cheque of prize money.

For 2021, the total prize pool for the Mercedes Cup is €543,210 which is down -20% compared to 2019's offering. The event was cancelled in 2020 due to draconian lockdowns.

The winner in Stuttgart will take a cheque for €53,280, which is -54.48% less than the amount Matteo Berrettini received when he won the title in 2019. The runner up will bag themselves €38,200 which is a drop of 39.64% compared to two years ago.

It's not all bad news though, losers in qualifying and early-round losers see a small boost compared to what they'd have won in 2019.

For example, first-round losers in the main draw will receive €7,010, which is up 2.49%. Hardly inflation-beating but still a small increase.

You can see a full breakdown of the 2021 Stuttgart prize money in the table below. A percentage change is also provided to compare with last season.
