St. Petersburg Open Prize Money 2020

The St. Petersburg Open historically takes place in September after the US Open and is part of the ATP 250 circuit of tournaments. However, for 2020 with the suspension of the tour and the French Open moving to September, it's been pushed back to October.

Held at the Sibur Arena, the tournament marks the start of the autumn indoor swing which concludes when the top eight in the world face off at the ATP Finals.

In 2019 the event tasted homegrown success with Daniil Medvedev taking down the title, following in the footsteps of previous Russian winners Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Marat Safin.

Should Medvedev replicate his success in 2020 he'll take home a paycheque of $92,870 which is a drop of -54.3% compared to last year and represents just 7.5% of the overall $1,243,790 total prize money pot.

Those drops are mirrored for the runner-up and semi-final losers who see drops of -31.8% and -11.4% respectively.

While prize money has taken a slight hit, the reason for those drops is that a larger percentage of prize money has been reallocated to qualifying and early-round losers who have been hit hard financially by the suspension of the tour.

First-round losers in qualifying for example bag themselves a 40.4% pay rise with $4,040, and should you make the main draw, a guaranteed $15,970 is yours in prize money, up 34.3% from 2019.

You can see a full breakdown of the 2020 St. Peterburg Open prize money in the table below. A percentage change is also provided to compare with last season and the Euros have been converted into £ and $ to give a comparison for British and American readers.
