Sardegna Open, Cagliari Prize Money 2021
Sardinia was a brand new ATP 250 event added to the 2020 schedule following the return of the tour after a 175-day hiatus of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For 2021 it makes a return on a single-year licence, albeit this time in April rather than October. The tournament takes place at the Cagliari Tennis Club.
The total prize money in Sardinia for 2021 comes in at €408,800 which is up 50.66% from the tournament held last year.
The champion will take home €40,100, a 201.05% rise compared to last year. The runner up also sees triple-digit percentage gains of 158.31%, and will receive a cheque for €28,750.
Those increases are mirrored across most of the main draw, which is to be expected seen as though the first iteration of Sardinia Open was a last-minute affair with prize money hard to come by.
However, it is not all gains. First-round losers and qualifying losers will find themselves slightly worse off than if they'd bowed out at the same stage in October 2020.
First-round losers will take home €5,275, a slight drop of -2.59%. Qualifying losers see a drop of 2.46% and 2.55% in prize money respectively.
