Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic, San Jose Prize Money 2021
The Silicon Valley Classic, currently sponsored by Mubadala Investment Company, is a WTA 500 tournament on the San Jose State University campus in San Jose, California.
The tournament has a rich history, and many fans know it as the Stanford Classic after it was held on the campus of Stanford University from 1997 to 2017 before moving to San Jose.
The total prize money on offer in San Jose for 2021 is $565,530, down -35.46% from 2019. The event was cancelled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The winner of the Silicon Valley Classic will take home a cheque for $68,570, which is down -54.61% compared to Saisai Zheng's amount when she lifted the title in 2019.
That downward trend continues throughout the main draw, with only losers in qualifying changing that trend. For example, first-round qualifying losers receive $3,700 in prize money, a jump of 73.30% vs 2019.
