Rio Open Prize Money 2020

The Rio Open presented by Claro is held at the Jockey Club Brasileiro and since it became part of the ATP tour in 2014 has been able to attract a number of the top clay-court players with Rafael Nadal winning the inaugural event in 2014.

As well as the carnival atmosphere, one other lure for the players is the prize money on offer and for 2020 the total prize money at the Rio Open is $1,759,905. While still an impressive figure, Rio is one of the few tournaments that has seen prize money drop and this years figure is 1.5% lower compared to 2019.

The champion in Rio this year will walk away with a cheque for $355,530 which is 3.7% less than last years winner received. The runner up will bag themselves $178,455 which is also 3.7% down.

While every main draw round receives less prize money than last year, the losers in qualifying buck the trend and first-round qualifying losers win $3,430 which is up 31.4%. Final round qualifying losers see their money boosted by 18.2% with $6,175 landing in their back pockets.
