The Tata Open Maharashtra, India’s only ATP World Tour stop, is held after during the first week in February after the Australian. Historically the ATP 250 event in India has always been in early January as a lead-in event to Melbourne but with the arrival of the ATP Cup, the tournament had to find a new slot in the calendar.
The event used to be held in Chennai but moved to Pune in 2018 and takes place at the Mhalunge Balewadi Tennis Complex. The prize money on offer for 2020 is a total of $546,355 which is a 3.4% rise compared to 2019.
Along with 250 ranking points, the winner will receive a paycheque for $91,625, a small 0.7% increase vs 2019, before they most likely head over to South America for the clay and the US for the hardcourt swing.
