Melbourne 1 / Adelaide + Melbourne 2 & 3 Prize Money 2021
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the opening weeks of the tennis calendar for both the ATP and WTA have seen significant changes.
In a bid to create some semblance of a professional tennis circuit, several tournaments have been scheduled to be held in Melbourne ahead of the Australian Open.
Firstly, the 2021 Adelaide International has been moved to Melbourne as part of the ATP's updated start to the season calendar and has been renamed Melbourne 1.
That tournament will run concurrently with another ATP 250 aka Melbourne 2, the ATP Cup and two WTA 500 tournaments, all four are held at Melbourne Park from February 1st. A further WTA 250 tournament called, you guessed it, Melbourne 3 will commence after the first week of the Australian Open on February 13th.
While it's hoped Melbourne 1 will return to its true home in Adelaide next year, Melbourne 2 and Melbourne 3 have been granted a single year license on the calendar so are unlikely be to held again. Nevertheless, full prize money breakdowns for all the Melbourne tournaments are provided below.
