Indian Wells Prize Money 2021

Often regarded by tennis fans as the fifth Grand Slam, the BNP Paribas Open certainly has the prize money to match with the total prize money pool for 2021 at $16,718,910, which is identical to 2019's offering.

The BNP Paribas Open offers the same prize money for men and women across singles and doubles competitions and has done since 2012, which means each tour plays for a share of $8,359,455.

Along with 1000 ranking points and prestigious addition to the trophy cabinet, the champion in Indian Wells 2021 will leave with a cheque for $1,209,730, which is down 10.66% compared to the amounts Dominic Thiem and Bianca Andreescu each received in 2019.

Runners up receive just over half that amount with $640,000, which, although down -6.71% vs two years ago, is still a substantial amount to help them get over the disappointment of losing the final.

Prize money at Indian Wells has increased by 81.95% since 2012, and the focus on recent years has been growing for qualifiers and first-round losers.

The jumps aren't quite as dramatic this year, but first-round losers still receive $18,155, a 10.53% rise vs 2019.

Losers in qualifying are the biggest beneficiaries in % terms, with first-round qualifying losers receiving $4,785, which is up 40.94%.

You can see a full breakdown of both the ATP and WTA 2021 Indian Wells prize money in the table below. A percentage change is also provided to compare with last season.
