Indian Wells Prize Money 2022
Often regarded by tennis fans as the fifth Grand Slam, the BNP Paribas Open certainly has the prize money to match.
For 2022, the total prize money pool stands at $17,168,110, up 0.48% compared to last year.
The BNP Paribas Open offers equal prize money for men and women across singles and doubles competitions and has done since 2012, which means each tour plays for a share of $8,584,055 in total prize money.
Along with 1000 ranking points and prestigious addition to the trophy cabinet, the 2022 Indian Wells tournament champion will leave with a cheque for $1,231,245.
That figure is up a negligible 1.58% compared to Cameron Norrie and Paula Badosa's earnings in last year's event held in October.
Runners up receive just over half that amount with $646,110, and although only a slight 0.88% rise vs last year, it is still a substantial amount to help them get over the disappointment of losing the final.
Prize money at Indian Wells has increased by 82.84% since 2012, and the focus on recent years has been growing the remuneration for qualifiers and first-round losers.
The jumps aren't as dramatic this year, but first-round losers still receive $18,200, a 0.25% rise vs 2021.
Losers in qualifying are the biggest beneficiaries in raw % terms, with first-round qualifying losers receiving $5,025, up 5.02%.
