Geneva Open Prize Money 2021

The Gonet Geneva Open takes place at Tennis Club de Genève at the Parc des Eaux-Vives, the oldest tennis club in Switzerland.

The headline participant for this year is Roger Federer, who is making his first appearance at the tournament and will hope to follow in the footsteps of fellow Swiss, Stan Wawrinka who was able to win back-to-back titles in 2016 and 2017.

With a private bank as the main sponsor, appearance fees are plentiful, but the prize money, in line with all the other ATP 250 events, sees a decline in 2021 due to zero fan attendance.

For 2021 the total prize money on offer in Geneva is €419,470, which is down 20% compared to the total 2019 prize money pool.

The champion in Geneva will take home €41,145, a drop of 54.5% compared to the money Alexander Zverev received when he landed the title in 2019. The runner up receives a cheque for €29,500, down -39.6% vs 2019.

However, early-round losers buck the trend, and those who falter in Round 1 of the main draw see a 2.5% rise compared to what they'd have received in 2019 with €5,415 in prize money. Inflation beating? Hardly but it could be worse.
