French Open Prize Money 2021

The French Open Prize money for 2021 has been unveiled and a large chunk of the tournament’s prize fund has again been allocated to help the players who have seen their earnings fall significantly during last years suspension of the tour.

The total prize money at Roland Garros for 2021 comes in at €34,367,215 which is down -10.53% compared to 2020.

However, despite the overall prize pool shrinking, a singles player that loses in any round of qualifying, or the first two rounds of the main draw will receive an identical amount of prize money as last year.

That means those who don't get out of the first round of the main draw can look forward to a €60,000 paycheque. While losers in the first round of qualifying will take home €10,000.

In light of the current situation, we are proud to have once again opted for a philanthropic prize fund, which allows us to support the players who have been severely affected by the health crisis, financially-speaking. Guy Forget, Tournament Director @ Roland Garros

From the last 32 onwards, there are some cutbacks, with rounds three, four, and the quarter-final paying out -10.05% less than last year.

The winner in Paris receives €1,400,000 still a hefty sum but one that is -12.5% less than last year's Champions, Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek each received along with La Coupe des Mousquetaires.

Runners up see a small -6.25% decline vs 2020 with €750,000 heading their way which should help them get over the loss of a Grand Slam Final.
