French Open Prize Money 2023

The French Open Prize money for 2023 has been unveiled and is now fully back up to pre-covid levels.

The total prize money at Roland Garros for 2023 comes in at €43.9 million, up 13.76% compared to 2022.

The men’s and women’s champions will take home a cheque for €2,300,000, 4.55% more than Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek received when they lifted the trophies last year.

The runner-up can also look forward to a healthy €1,150,000 landing in their bank account, a 4.55% increase compared to last year.

It’s not just those who make the latter stages that benefit from a pay rise either. Players making an early first-round exit can look forward to a €69,000 paycheque, up 11.29% from last year.

While losers in the first round of qualifying will take home €16,000, which is a 14.29% boost vs twelve months ago.

With the aim of ensuring a more even distribution between players, the French Tennis Federation have significantly increased the prize money for first-round losers in the women’s and men’s singles draws and the amounts awarded in the qualifying, wheelchair tennis and quad competitions.
