Federer’s Clothing for Winter 2011

It's no secret that Roger is the best dressed tennis player on tour by a country mile so I've decided to preview his outfits prior to tournaments now as a regular feature on my blog.

Below is Roger's outfit for the upcoming indoor hard court tournaments – the Swiss Indoor Masters and the BNP Paribas Masters. Of course he would be wearing this in the far east but he's withdrawn from the Shanghai Masters. *Update. I've read now that the obsidian darker blue is for the World Tour finals.

Federer Imperial Blue Polo Winter 2011

Federer Obsidian White Polo 2011

Nike have again opted for the classic Polo shirt, he gets 2 colours – an Imperial Blue with Obsidian Blue detailing and white Nike tick and the reverse for the alternate shirt – Obisidan Blue with Imperial Blue detailing again with white Nike tick. The polo is always a winner for me, The V necks and the Henley neck they've put Roger in over the last 2 seasons I've never been a fan of. The style of the polo compliments his game much more – it's crisp, stylish and is a purists type of tennis clothing.

The polo is a Raglan, which means there's no seams on the shoulders (I guess they have to think of an excuse to make it ‘new'). They've gone for imperial blue and obisdian blue which are pretty nice colours. Roger definitely suits pastel/plain colours more than some of shit bright ones he wore last year. The bright Orange should be strictly for the Nadal locker.

Federer White Shorts 2011

The shorts are the same as ever, dri fit, lined available in White to match the Imperial blue, and in the Obsidian to match, yeah you guessed it, the Obsidian shirt.

A solid choice again from Nike, not quite up there with the French Open shirt which is my favourite of this season but it's on my buy list. I prefer it when Nike don't go crazy, there's no point trying to push boundaries when it comes to Federers style – keep it plain and simple. After all he lets his tennis do the talking. If you're interested in making a purchase – Tennis Expresshave it in stock for $40.

Let me know your thoughts.

Huge fan of Roger Federer. I watch all his matches from Grand Slam level right down to ATP 250. When I'm not watching or writing about tennis I play regularly myself and have a keen interest in tactics, equipment and technicalties of the sport.
